Our Father's Way of Giving - Jesus Christ

Matthew 7:9-11
9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Jesus gives a comparison between human fathers and our Heavenly Father.
11 If you, then, though you are evil,
Evil = 4190 poneros (pon-ay-ros'); bad, evil, grievous, hurtful, lewd, malicious, wicked.
I had hoped for sinful, but the word definely means evil
know how to give good gifts to your children,
Our heavenly Father is infinitely more holy.
how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Our Father's Way of Giving - Jesus Christ
Romans 8:32
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all -- how will he not also, with him, graciously give us all things?
Every blessing from the Lord comes with Jesus Christ.
Salvation, Sanctification, Healing, Annointing, Wisdom, Righteousness, Comfort, Peace,
Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
To receive what we ask, we need to hear the word of the Lord
John 15:5,7
5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing….7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
We need to love Jesus more than what we are asking for.
Psalm 37:4-5
4 Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
We need to seek Jesus first and foremost
Matthew 6:33
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
John 14:12-15
12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. 15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
