God's Word Is Not Chained
By Pastor John
The apostle Paul is on his way to visit the saints in Jerusalem. As he goes, he pens a letter to the church in Rome. He tells the Roman believers that he intends to visit them soon, while on his way to Spain. Paul, of course, is then arrested in Jerusalem, and eventually is taken to Rome in chains. Scholars debate whether Paul ever made it to Spain. But there is no debate that his letters (including his letter to the Romans) made it to Spain….and China, and Russia, and the United States, and to the uttermost parts of the earth. Paul's letters have ministered to hundreds of millions of people around the globe for nearly 2000 years, and continue to do so today.

The apostle John is in confinement on the Isle of Patmos. While there, he is given a heaven-sent vision of the future. John faithfully records what he sees and hears, and sends letters to seven churches in Asia Minor. John never leaves Patmos in the flesh, but his books have reached every corner of the planet, and have touched millions of lives.
"God's Word is not chained."
In April, 1981, a 29-year-old man is in a motel room in Grants Pass, Oregon. For reasons unknown to him, he has picked up a Christian book. As he reads, the Word of God begins to work on his heart. Well after midnight, the man is suddenly overwhelmed by his sinfulness. Through uncontrollable tears he cries out to God, begging for mercy. Twenty minutes later, he is a new creature in Christ, and his life is forever changed. The author of the book was no doubt sound asleep when all this happened. To this day he has no idea that the Lord used his book, and the Word of God within it, to lead me to Jesus Christ, and to make me a child of God.
"God's Word is not chained."
-Unlike people, the Word of God is always at work, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
-People have a life span. The Word of God abides forever.
-There are limits where people can go. "God's Word is not chained."
Today the Word of God is traveling throughout the Earth, borne by the Holy Spirit to peoples' hearts. It is going forth in Bibles, in books, in magazines, and in tracts. The Word of God is going forth over the Internet all around the planet. This web site, "God's Word Is Flawless," has already been read by thousands of people in all fifty states and 131 foreign countries. "God's Word is not chained."
Today, when we pray for missionaries, and pastors, and ministries, let's remember to pray that the Holy Spirit will take the unchained Word of God to millions of hearts that desperately need it.
